Poppy’s Journey: From Trailer to Studio
Poppy’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and growth. Over seven years ago, while working in TV production, she started her floral business as a side hustle, selling succulents at markets and creating floral designs for small events. In 2017, she had the idea to create a mobile floral business and refurbished a horse trailer into a charming floral-mobile.
As she began connecting with locals and crafting custom bouquets from her trailer, her reputation grew. Poppy soon took on larger events and weddings, deciding to fully commit to her creative passion. “As a new mom with a new business, there was some apprehension but also so much excitement!” she recalls.
Her journey wasn’t without challenges. When her trailer was stolen, the immediate outpouring of support from the community helped her rebuild and transform it into a flower truck, allowing her to continue spreading floral joy.
In time, she outgrew her garage setup and took the bold step of moving into a studio above the DTLA Flower Market, a decision that propelled her business to new heights. Since then, she’s expanded her space twice, marking her growth as a trusted name in LA’s floral community.
