Rose Parade Featuring Mellano & Company

Have you ever wondered what it takes to create the stunning floats of the Rose Parade? Each one is a true masterpiece, brought to life with incredible teamwork, boundless creativity, and, of course, an abundance of fresh flowers. At the heart of this iconic tradition is Mellano & Company, a trusted vendor and proud contributor to the event’s floral magic.

Mellano’s Floral Contribution

This year, Mellano & Company supplied an astounding 80,000 carnations, 270,000 stems of roses sourced from around the world, and 10,000 stems grown right on their farm in North San Diego County. These blooms, nurtured with care and harvested with precision, represent the beauty and diversity of flowers from both local and global sources.

Behind the Scenes at the Rosemont Pavilion

At the Rosemont Pavilion, the magic happens. This is where volunteers, designers, and floral experts come together to transform Mellano’s flowers into breathtaking floats. Working tirelessly around the clock, they use techniques like gluing, pinning, and petal-by-petal application to bring @aes_creative’s artistic designs to life. The process requires incredible attention to detail and creative problem-solving to meet the parade’s strict standards for floral coverage and visual impact.

Did you know? Every inch of each float must be covered with natural materials, from petals and seeds to bark and leaves. It’s a true testament to nature’s beauty and human ingenuity working hand in hand.
